0120 - Verbs Get All the Action
07Feb08

Uh-oh, a SILLY-OFF?!? This sounds like fun in the making, gang. I can’t wait to see how this turns out!
So, I got the title for today’s comic this morning, and I thought to myself, “I’ve never based an entire strip around an idea for a title before.”
But guess what, everyone? NOW I HAVE!!!
UPDATE:
I was just flipping through some random Dinosaur Comics, and without even trying to do so, I found out I have yet again RIPPED IT OFF! Woops. Sorry, T-Rex!

favorite title ever, should be made into the obvious sexual joke involving the personification of parts of speech and then added to joke books
Two nouns, Incompetence and Inadequacy, were hanging out in their favorite Irish pub, Parts O’Speech. A pretty adverb, Sexily, is sitting at the other end of the bar. The two nouns begin talking up their game. Each believes that she is looking at HIM. The moment of truth: Sexily gets off her barstool and begins walking towards Incompetence and Inadequacy. They try to “play it cool,” but she passes by them both and puts her arms around Fornicating, who was sitting behind the two nouns the whole time. Angry at the outcome, Incompetence leans over to Inadequacy and says “Man, how come verbs get all the action?”
Is that worthy of Jason’s Big Book o’ Yuk-Yuks?
Also, let this be known that I’m pretty sure this is the first “real joke” I’ve ever written. I’m glad it’s high up on the NERD end of the spectrum.
